Churches across England will participate in a series of commemorations to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day on Thursday, 8th May 2025.

2:00 PM at the RBL Memorial, there will be a short service of Thanksgiving.

At 6.30 p.m. on VE Day, bells will ring out from churches and cathedrals, “echoing the sounds that swept across the country in 1945 . . . as a collective act of thanksgiving”. The national ringing initiative is supported by the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers and the Association of English Cathedrals.

8:00 PM Chatteris Community Choir will be singing outside on the front drive.

9:30 PM the LIGHTING OF THE BEACON by the Town Council.
