Chatteris Parish Church will be attending Soul Survivor again in 2010.

What is Soul Survivor?

Are you interested in 5 days of learning more about God, getting closer to Him through worship, prayer and meeting with others?  Are you excited by the idea of a few days away having fun, watching some awesome bands, eating out in cafés, chilling out with 11, 000 other Christians and having the freedom to plan how you spend your days? If the answer is “yes” then Soul Survivor is for you.

For those of you who haven't been before: Soul Survivor is a relaxed style of summer camp, a bit more like a festival.  We will be camping in tents and enjoying whatever the English summer chooses to give us in the way of weather, as well as eating together, enjoying small group times and going to main meetings together.

We will be attending week 'C' of Soul Survivor which starts on Monday 16th August and finishes late on Friday 20th.  As in 2009, we will be organising coach travel to and from Somerset, all food for the week and some camping equipment if required.

The coach will be leaving from outside the parish church at 8.30am on the Monday and will return to Chatteris in the early afternoon of Saturday 21st.

How much does it cost?

The costs this year includes a small contribution towards transport, food and equipment.  This year we are also asking for a £50 deposit to be made to secure your place.

There is a sliding scale of costs which change as we get closer to the event, these changes are imposed by Soul Survivor and are outside of our control.

What should I take?

You must bring a sleeping bag and pillow (we don't provide those!).  It's also a good idea to pack some warm and waterproof clothing (last year was nice and sunny, but cold at night, and the year before was er, well, we don't talk about the year before ;-).  The long range weather pixie tells me that 2010 is going to be a fantastic heatwave (due to the jet stream and el Ninjo apparently), but you never know when a tropical storm might sweep over Somerset.

If you have a tent to bring - fantastic!  Please let us know as we need that for the group booking.  Otherwise we'll sort out accomodation for you, this will be in a tent sharing with others.

How can I register?

If you'd like to come and are under 19, get your parent or guardian to fill in the consent form (available to download below) and send it to Susan & Ian Hamilton (47 New Road, Chatteris, PE16 6BW) with a cheque  for either the total cost or deposit (with the rest to follow later).  Cheques should be made payable to "Chatteris PCC".
