Someone once said that grief is the price we pay for love.
When someone close to us dies many difficult emotions and feelings can be experienced. Grief and grieving is our response to this loss and we may feel overwhelmed and isolated at this time. It may be immediate or it may hit us months or years later. At times like this, it is important that we have someone we can turn to; someone who can provide a listening ear.
We want you to know that you can ring the vicar to arrange for a member of the Pastoral Team to meet with you in your home.
A service of comfort and healing
You may be interested to know that we run an annual Bereavement service on the first Sunday of November, starting at 2:30 pm. This is a reflective time. The names of people who have died in the past year will be read out. There will also be an opportunity to light a candle to remember someone close to you. Everyone, including your friends and family, are most welcome to attend. Afterwards, you will be invited to the Bricstan Hall for tea and cakes. We hope that you might join us.
The Bible says that 'The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.' May you feel His comfort as you put your trust in him.
you are a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering.
I have been undone by my loss
and don't know where to turn.
Please come close and enter into this aching heart.
Fill me with your life and peace
so that I might have the courage
to trust you each day for all that lies ahead.
Thank you. Amen.
