Final Sunday for Families
It was great to see so many children and young people at the Christmas events in the church. We had a lot of fun together and enjoyed seeing your children involved up front. The costumes were imaginative, the was singing was terrific, and we safely got through another Christingle with no one's hair catching fire Most of all it was wonderful just to see so many Chatteris families enjoying themselves with all ages together. Many people have asked what else we have on for families at the church so I am writing to let you know about the Final Sunday of the Month. On the last Sunday of every month we run two services for families. In the morning at 10:30 am there is a service aimed at families with younger children. The music and activities are aimed at active children who want to move about. In the evening at 5:00 pm there is a youth service called soul cafe. It includes our own youth band and the session is put together especially for teenagers, although mum and dad might enjoy it just as much! We hope that you will join in with us on the final Sunday of the month. You may also be interested to know that we also have Toddler Praise on Fridays at 1:30 during term time in the Bricstan Hall. And plans are under way for the annual Summer Holiday Club. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Week of Prayer for Christian UnitySunday 24th January marked the beginning of the International Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. In chatteris we celebrated it by holding a special morning service with all the churches together. The service was in 3 parts. We began at the parish church, marched to the Emmanuel and finished up at the Salvation Army. In each of our three church buildings we prayed for Gods blessing on the congregation(s) which meet there, including the Catholics and Fen Life. It was great occassion and I am sure that God was blessed too. We reaffirmed our commitment to work together in God's mission for his kingdom in this town. And we finished each part of the service by singing a few verses of the hymn which ends ONE FAITH, ONE CHURCH, ONE LORD. Thanks be to God. Discuss this item on the forums. God Smiled on Us!
After another amazing week in Somerset, everyone (and I mean everyone) was changed in some way by the spirit of God that moved through the group. We may not have had the fanciest tents, or formation teenage tentage erection teams (one for the blog that I think!), but we made some great friends, had a laugh, got very muddy even though the weather was fine (you know who you are!) and many started their walk with Jesus and called Him friend. And some of us older ones? I realised that through all the accidents & illness, the pure hard work, the disappointments, the tent envy (particularly of the Baptists!), the tantrums and crowbar related incidents... ...God smiles on us. And that is quite enough I think. Expect some blogs very soon (Kim! - keep those font sizes down! :-), and the first video will be ready in a few days... ...just as soon as I've put all the 'stuff' away!
