Jem Finch
A special guestbook for Jem Finch after his accident in February 2008
Guest: our prayers are with Jem
To all Jem's family - a very sincere thank you for keeping us updated with the news about Jem's progress. We, the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary at Assisi Convent in March, have been keeping Jem in our prayers ever since we heard the news of his accident through Martin and Penny. Personally, I have a big debt of gratitude to Jem who some months ago so kindly spent a lot of time working on my computer and finding out what was wrong with it.
May Jem continue to experience God's healing power and may He give all of you the strength you need at this time.

Having just found out about Jem's accident we wanted to send you our love and prayers. You are all in our thoughts. We were not surprised with Jem's attitude as this is typical of Jem's outward fun loving nature. This with the love of a gracious God we know will see him through this difficult time. Rest assured we will be along to visit in the not too distant future when convenient with you all.
Much love to you all.

Jonathan from next door.
Didn't know about this until Peggy Kilby told me on Wednesday night.
I managed to speak to your dad the following day and am following your progress via this site.
I have no doubt that you will overcome this, the body repairs itself in wonderful ways and you are young and strongwilled. I reckon before the end of the summer you will be flushing the drains out as usual.
Thinking of you consantly at the moment.
Chin up and see you soon.
Jonathan

Praying for you, Jem
Breathe through the heats of our desire your coolness and your balm;
Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire;
Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire, O still, small voice of calm.
Dear Lord you spoke creation into being, and from the dust you formed us.
In your still small voice, please will you continue to speak creation and healing into Jem's body.
Please will you continue to raise up this army of warriors who hold him and his family in prayer before your throne of grace.
Please will you continue to enable the staff at the hospital who support Jem, and whisper into their souls the work of your love, grace and healing.
All the glory is yours, mighty God wonderful Saviour! Amen

Get Well
Hi Jem, thought I might just say a few words from Yvonne and I hope you are feeling much better, keep up the positive approach you are making and you will get there. We had hoped to be able to get to see you this week but are going away for 2 weeks to friends in Aberdeen. Do you have an e-mail address I could contact you on. We both send our love and will see you on our return
